My New Challenge

Since I don’t have cable I have been renting TV series on netflix. At the moment I am finishing season three of Project Runway. I had seen shows sporadically throughout the past few years, but I have never seen an entire season. I LOVE it!!! I always get soo wrapped up in the contest and who my favorites are (this season I love Michael Knight and Laura). I hope this show keeps running for a few more ears, because I would totally do it. I don’t think I am ready now for the show, but give me a few years, more practice and the ability to get off of work for that amount of time. But if I ‘can make it work’, I am going to do it!! As you know, once I get my mind wrapped around something, I typically do it!

Meditating

Today I crafted. I pulled out a huge tub of supplies from school and made a mess and got my hands dirty. I forgot how good it is for me, I just love it and feel soo great now that I have started. I turn on the tv and turn off my phone and lock myself in my condo and just go for it. I realized that I am rarely doing this for the end project, I guess that explains all of the half finished projects I have had through the years! When I am crafting/ sewing/ creating things with my hands I get in a zone that I have never found in other areas on my life; I get now why some people love to run, I would assume they get that same clarity. I am making it a new staple in my life to take time to create I think it will be sooo great for my head! Maybe now I will actually finish my brother’s wedding gift!! Haha

Bernard

I would like to introduce you to my new roommate/pet Bernard (I hope this name sticks!). I think as far as roommates go a fish is all I want to deal with and at the same time as far as first pets go a fish is about all I can handle. To be honest I’m not even sure how great I am going to be with my fish I already almost killed him, but it was an honest mistake. I got a really cool bowl for him that looked like a vintageish fish bowl. I got it perfectly clean and the water all the right temperature and such and put the fish in the bowl thinking I was a good pet owner. I watched a movie and went to say hi to Bernard and the bowl had about two inches of water in it and my kitchen had water all over it. Apparently the bowl had a crack. Don’t worry the fish is in a new bowl and very happy, I guess.

I am screwed

As I sit eating frozen blueberries it comes to me how hard it is going to be for whoever I marry- he has some BIG shoes to fill. My dad brought these jus- of- the-bush-blueberries up for me; he also has re-done the floors in my condo, and is in the middle of building me an entertainment center. Thinking about it I’m not sure who actually picked these berries, it may have been my mom, but either way I am VERY spoiled and whoever this future boy is better understand that I have VERY high expectations!

Pretty in Pink

Considering my birthday falls at a really annoying time of the year, and one of my good friends was in town I decided to have a pink birthday celebration. I had a great time, and thank my friends!!! a few highlights:
1. Yadi was there from Colorado
2. Steven and Margaux came up from Eugene
3. Leanne made me some adorable hot pick cupcakes... and brought a light up-furry-pink b-day crown
4. We got Kim to wear a pink dress
5. We got Molly to wear a great pair of green shoes
6. Jesse from the Bachelorette came!!

(more pictures to come)

tourist

Yadi came to visit this past weekend!! It was so fun to have a little Colorado back in my life, and to do all of the tourist things I never get to do in Portland. We went to a Rockies game, and didn't really watch the game at all but she got to see the beer garden! Friday we went to Multonomah Fall for a little hike... in the HOT sun! Then we crossed the bridge of the Gods to Skamania lodge for a little snack and an amazing view. Saturday we did the Rose Garden and some sunbathing in Jamison Square... and I promise we saw plenty of the Portland night life! (sorry I suck at remembering to take pictures.. I'm working on it!)

recap of the past year

I can fill anyone in on the details that have brought me to where I am now. I finished classes at Colorado State University in December of 07 and walked the following spring. I stayed in Fort Collins and worked as an event coordinator until the end of June. Then I moved back to Portland for an internship with Nike golf where I assisted with the designs of women's golf. In march I was hired as a full time employee- Nike Golf Design Apprentice!!!!!!!!!!!! If you can't tell I was SSSOOOO excited! The first thing I did with the new permanent salary was bought a small condo... more like a glorified dorm room. ( many more posts and pictures to follow) Now I am in Portland doing the work thing and building a new life.

hello

I realize that I am doing a lot of new things in my life and have friends and family all over the county that are trying to keep up with the happenings... and to be honest I can't keep on top of who cares, who has already heard what, and it is a lot of talking on the phone. I'm really excited and proud of where I have come as a person and all of the growing up and fun I have had lately, this way anyone who is curious or bored can just check it out!
